After multiple affidavits and witness statements from Miss Emily Slater of Cohen Cramer Solicitors on behalf of Mr Nick Statman and Mr Malcolm Statman, I thought I’d start to share with you what a Leeds University Law Degree [think it was Leeds anyway] gets you …. I have quite a few favourites so I may run a poll to see which is everyone’s favourite!
“I do not believe it is actually relevant to set out to the Court whether this business is actually connected to the Claimants or not”
This has to be the best legal “denial” but “true” statement I’ve ever seen –
[Quote from my Facebook Page / A tweet I made] “Wouldn’t be a certain company rebranded would it?? <http link since been removed / changed>- free from OFT undertakings ? Different director though …. “
The Defendant also posted a link to a company called Property Buyer Franchise, which appears to be a home sales business. A copy of this posting is attached at page 22 of ESJ.
The inference from the Defendant’s post suggests that the Claimants’ company, Gateway Homes, has created a new company called Property Buyer Franchise presumably to circumvent the OFT undertaking. I do not believe it is actually relevant to set out to the Court whether this business is actually connected to the Claimants or not. I believe that the important issue is tnat the Defendant believes the Property Buyer Franchise is connected to the Claimants, and is trying to “connect the dots” so to speak, so as to highlight the same to third parties.
So are they accepting or denying that Gateway Homes has rebranded itself as PropertyBuyer ? Should I have gone to prison for writing this ?
I just slapped into Google (other search engines are available!) “total franchise property buyer” AND … if you click on the first link that says Gateway it takes you to a franchise opportunity for BetterMove … gotta love Google!!
