DWP Boston Health Assessment Centre – kudos to the Maximus nurse
I’d like to thank the Maximus nurse at the DWP Boston Assessment Centre for her kindness and compassion earlier today. Not only did I get a call out of the blue to check if I was attending my appointment this afternoon, it was clear she had sussed the situation out and dealt with me with compassion, empathy, swiftly and promptly – I was 30 minutes early and only waited 5 minutes to be out of the door quite soon afterwards. 318. That was the essence of the complaint following his arrest. True he had, erroneously, alleged “perjury”. It is true to say that he was concerned, in particular, about the role played by Miss Slater – understandably so – and, quite rationally, he was concerned that the claimants personally must have been involved because of the clear presumption (and fact) that their solicitor was acting on their instructions, in particular, Mr Nick Statman (as Miss Slater’s exhibits show). 299. The trail of file notes and emails then ends. Miss Slater did not “revert” to the police and deal with the embarrassing problem she had been presented with on behalf of her clients, if not, indeed, had directly created. Belatedly, it had dawned on different police officers, who had not previously been subjected to the repeated (badgering) telephone calls and had not been exposed to the pressure being applied. It appeared that they had taken a detached view and saw that the arrest may not in fact be lawful, as indeed, turned out to be the case.
